Yolanda Ruiz was born and raised in San Jose, California and now in Los Angeles is song writer and performer that started at a young age. After high school, Yolanda recorded her first few songs and within weeks of its release the single "Together Forever" ended up getting airplay on KYLD. A major radio station in the San Francisco Bay Area giving Yolanda major exposure, soon other radio stations in cities like New York, Miami, Fresno, and Salinas among others added “Together Forever” to their mixshow rotations.

Freestyle artist Sandee was found dead in her Hollywood, Florida home. There are no details yet on the cause of her death. Sandee leaves us many of her hits. Here are a few we all came to love.

A native of South Florida, Sandee was known for embracing a Latin-influenced style of dance music in the 1980s and 1990s. Sandee (whose name is pronounced Sahn-day) was a member of Expose's original lineup, which dance music producer Lewis

Martinee assembled in 1984. Sandee performed on Expose's first two Arista singles "Exposed To Love" and "Point of No Return, " both of which were major club hits. After those singles, Expose's original lineup (which also included singer Ale Lorenzo) broke up--and by the time Expose was ready to record its third single, "Come Go With Me, " an entirely new lineup was in place. For Expose's first album Exposure, Martinee chose to re-record "Exposed To Love" and "Point of No Return" with the new lineup--thus, none of Sandee's vocals can be heard on that album. Sandee went solo after Expose, and in 1988, she enjoyed a club hit with her Fever single "Notice Me." In 1991, the singer recorded her RAL solo album, Only Time Will Tell, which included the single "Love Desire."

This is one of Rockell's biggest hits. It's still being played all around the world. Rockell is one of my choices to be nominated for the Freestyle award. Rockell is one of the few Freestyle artists who continue to perform shows all over to support her old music and new material that she still puts out. How many others are doing that? The list is short.

Members of Miami girl group say they own name ExposE when it comes to live shows.

The Miami girl group Expose ruled the charts in the 1980s, turning out a multiplatinum album and numerous hits, including the No. 1 single, “Seasons Change.”

But some things never change.

Turmoil with management roiled the group during its hey-day and rancor has returned now that the trio is on a popular reunion tour riding high on 1980s dance nostalgia. The singers have been sued to stop using the name Expose after breaking with promoters in August just months before their trademark licensing agreement was set to expire.

Crystal Entertainment & Filmworks of Miami filed a lawsuit against the group Nov. 30 in U.S. District Court in Fort Lauderdale alleging it owns the rights to the group’s name and that the members of Expose violated their trademark licensing agreement. The group’s founder — prominent Miami Beach songwriter and producer Lewis A. Martinee — also has filed recent applications for the trademark for both the record digital music and the performances.

Jeanette Jurado, Ann Curless Weiss and Gioia Bruno hired a high-powered Los Angeles law firm to defend them. They assert that Crystal — which inherited the ownership rights to Expose’s recorded music — does not have the right to the trademark in as it pertains to live performances. Expose performed at Voodoo Lounge in Fort Lauderdale on Saturday and plans a gig in Atlanta on Dec. 14.

Among its allegations, the lawsuit alleges trademark infringement, breach of contract and unfair competition. It also alleges “cybersquatting” for the group using the Expose name on its Web site.

Crystal named former band member Kelly Moneymaker in the lawsuit, as well as the group’s booking agent, Paradise Artists of Los Angeles and its Las Vegas-based merchandise vendor, Walking Distance Entertainment.

Paradise declined comment. Walking Distance’s telephone number is not published.

According to the lawsuit and its exhibits, the group signed an agreement with Crystal Entertainment in 2006 that acknowledges that Crystal owns all rights to the trademark Expose. The agreement stipulates that Crystal will get 10 percent of the proceedings from concerts and 10 percent of the sales of merchandise.

Most of you dont know that many freestyle artists took an adventure to Salsa music, and some stayed there.
Marc Anthony & India are still going strong in Salsa. Marc Anthony wrote a little song called "Boy I've Been Told" for Safire and it became a huge hit.
Marc recieved an achievement award at the Latin Alma Awards. His acceptance speach really sucked.

Marc mentioned how he got his start in music and he totally dissed the Freestyle industry by not mentioning them.
